A film about the consequences of false planning, senseless attainment of the planned production target, sloppiness, and corruption. In the process, villages are destroyed to make room for huge building projects and the inhabitants are resettled. 'Computer Games' gives an account of the parching of the Aral Sea as an environmental catastrophe of immeasurable extent. The reason predominantly lies in the diversion of feeder streams that are used to irrigate the cotton fields in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. The Aral Sea, the world's largest inland water, has turned into a salty brine, shipping traffic has meanwhile come to a halt. Kilometres away from the water, fishing trawlers rust in the sand.
